The Amazing Bus

Watch or rewatch Jakob Martin Strid's story The Amazing Bus as it takes over the Store Stage in the Playhouse. The performance was completely sold out at the premiere in autumn 2025, but now the opportunity is here again for children and adults to experience the poetic and playful performance created by the artistic team that was also behind The Incredible Story of the Giant Bulb.

Life in Ahnstarr City is not easy for Taku, Spir and their friends. Their small wooden houses on the harbour are about to be demolished and Little Timo is seriously ill from the pollution in the town. Only the rare saffron lily, which according to myth grows in the dreamland of Balanka, can cure Timo. When two old Phantom-8 jet engines from a failed expedition 25 years ago are found and the plasma generator is brought to life, Spir gets the idea: Let's build a giant bus and travel to Balanka. Everyone is helped along, and soon the fantastic bus is ready to leave with little Timo, Mrs. Fribo and the friends from the port. The journey is perilous, because the bus has to cross the steepest bridge to the North Pole, through icelands and, not least, the last land where the Dictator resides. Will the bus make it to Balanka?

The Amazing Bus is a story that speaks to all children and adults with their imagination intact. So hurry to redeem the ticket before the doors close and the course is set towards the country, where anything can happen.
