Everyone in town loves the lion when he sits there in his cage so well — but when he gets out one day to look around among all his friends, everything looks completely different...
The Happy Lion is a vision of friendship and the wonder of going out into the world alone for the first time — the great upheaval when you experience that everything outside is different than at home. The performance awakens, amazes and surprises, but at the same time holds the children safely in their hands.
Den Glad Løve is created by Teater Håndholdt in collaboration with international Passepartout Theatre Production based on the story of the same name from 1954. Theatre Handheld is known for creating performing arts based on animation and object theatre for the youngest audience.

Part of Theatrical Magic in the Autumn Holidays
We are part of the festival 'Theatre Magic in the Autumn Holiday', which gives children and their adults the opportunity to experience performing arts in the city's cultural houses, libraries and theatres during week 42. The encounter with the performing arts provides a shared experience where one is together in the present moment of magical moments - big and small.
Teatermagien can be found this year at Østerbro, Vesterbro, Amager, Nørrebro, in Vanløse, Valby, Indre By, Brønshøj-Husum, Sydhavn and Bispebjerg.
The festival is supported by the Augustinus Foundation and the Copenhagen Performing Arts Committee.
