Dent May will perform with his bittersweet songs on April 23 at the Warsaw-based club BardZo Bardzo.

Dent May is from Mississippi, but has been operating in Los Angeles for over a decade. He became known to a wider audience thanks to his debut album “The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele”, which was released in 2009 by Paw Tracks, a label founded by Animal Collective. Since then, he has released six more albums, consistently developing his signature melodic songwriting, set in the climates of indie pop, psychedelic pop and classic American songwriting. He also has collaborations with Eyedress to his credit, and their joint track “Something About You” went platinum.

His latest, released on August 14 by Carpark Records, “The Big One” brought another change in his approach to music. This time May moved away from working alone on recordings and invited a group of friendly musicians to the studio, betting on spontaneity and improvisation. The result is a record full of warm melodies and bittersweet melancholy that shows that his love of classic pop songwriting is still going very well.
