After a fourteen year absence, Hein returns to his home village on a small island. But the tight-knit village community doesn't recognize him, not even his former best friend Friedemann. A village court should clarify whether he really is who he claims to be, while the memories of the witnesses and his own increasingly contradict each other. The process divides the village and turns it into a cauldron of witches.
