Venue: Chamber - The gigantic companies Never and Immer are struggling for a monopoly position on the market and to invent the next innovative women's hygiene product. CEOs Franka König and Bettina Fürstenberg want to buy each other's company and get on each other's heels. Her children vie for their mothers' inheritance and affection, while their confidants, counselors and interns sense their own career opportunities. Complex intrigues and affairs ensue, as well as unexpected alliances.
Inspired by pop cultural references such as the films The Favourite, The Devil Wears Prada or the series Succession, playwright Svenja Viola Bungarten explores varieties of power and solidarity among women. What are the costs of success? How do women participate in patriarchy? What does power do with feminism, and what power does feminism need?
The lyrics are brought to the stage by Anita Vulesica, who in the 2023/24 season has already addressed the complex issue of work and pay in a profound and at the same time ridiculous way with the production of Georges Perec's The Salary Increase at the Deutsches Theater.
