At Haus Bastian, experts from the fields of museum and inclusion exchange ideas with each other. It's about learning from each other, making contacts and trying out practical things together. Together, we are working on inclusive educational work in museums.
The Museum and Inclusion Working Group has been led by Emanuele Valariano since May 2025. We cordially invite you to the new topic “Intersectionality”. Together, we want to develop new perspectives on inclusion in the context of museums, exhibitions and cultural institutions.

The butterfly effect - culture, solidarity and collective redistribution
A conversation about museums as social and solidary spaces: How is cultural participation organized for disadvantaged children and young people? What offers are currently available, and to what extent does barrier-free and equal access to art and culture also reflect opportunities on the job market later on? Does the cultural sector still have a problem of classism, and if so, which initiatives, projects and practices open up new forms of participation, solidarity and collective design?
Nicky Böhm is director of Hejmo and vice chairwoman of lilipad, two Berlin-based non-profit organizations that create spaces for encounter, cultural participation and self-efficacy for migrant and refugee communities. In her work, she places particular emphasis on low-threshold, creative storytelling formats that promote the development of networks, education and cultural exchange.
Meeting point: Haus Bastian Participation is free of charge. Haus Bastian is barrier-free accessible.
Limited number of participants. Registration required.
