The perfect human

Jørgen Leth himself called his 1968 film Det “a meta-document”, and despite its length of only 13 minutes, it has gone down in Danish film history. This performance is based on Leth's work and examines how the human body can be seen, explored and revealed. Like the dogma films to which Leth also contributed, this new ballet harnesses the art of limitation as a creative tool: a white room, a simple garage door -- and nothing to hide behind.

Everything unfolds within this naked architecture, where every movement, every glance and every breath is magnified. It is an examination of the body as both instrument and potential, for in this framework both the absurdity and the fragility of being human are revealed.

Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber both have a keen eye for the human mind and are experts at creating universes that are at once supremely intimate and sensuous and at the same time universal. Together with acclaimed American composer Andy Akiho, they are now creating an entirely new work in which music and body are boiled in and come together in pure, unadulterated presence.
