Jo Nesbøs Di derre is coming to Copenhagen!
Not everyone outside Norway knows that Jo Nesbø — the author behind world-renowned criminal investigator Harry Hole, known for both the bestselling crime series and Netflix success — is also the frontman, songwriter and vocalist of one of Norway's most significant bands of all time.
Di derre — often referred to as the very sound of Norwegian 90s pop — went from being a cult band to becoming an everyman in the 90s, with the hit “Jenter” as an unforgettable highlight. Their 1993 debut album, “Den derre med Di derre”, received rave reviews — but it was the 1994 sequel, “Jenter & Sånn”, that gave the band their breakthrough in earnest, selling nearly 200,000 copies.
Since then, Di derre has made the whole of Norway sing along to hits such as “Rumba med Gunn”, “90-metersbakken”, “Erik Vea” and “Børs Cafe”. “Jenter” is today among the most played songs on Norwegian radio.
On March 16, the band will visit Copenhagen and Hotel Cecil with the success format “Anonyme Akustikere”, where they have put their electrical equipment on the shelf and replaced drum kits and electric guitars with washboards and acoustic guitars. Here they provide unique, acoustic interpretations of their greatest hits. It will be an evening filled with warmth, community singing, storytelling and laughter.
Di derre have retained their popularity over three decades and are still setting new audience records on the Norwegian concert stages. Now they are coming to Denmark for the first time.
