When Sister Jeanne des Anges claims to have been attacked by an incubus in the form of Grandier, a series of violent exorcisms begins. Soon, more Ursuline women accuse him of seducing with black magic, and the case turns into a spectacle attracting crowds of spectators even from Paris.
