About the event
Venue: Room B - Gregers Werle accepts an invitation to his father's house after many years of absence. He avoided old Werle, a rich industrialist, for a long time, because his father had betrayed the deceased mother and drove her into alcohol addiction. Gregers Hjalmar Ekdal, his best childhood friend, has also invited to the food company, where father Werle cultivates his relationships with the most important politicians in the city and presents his housekeeper as a potential new life partner. In conversation with Hjalmar, Gregers realizes that his father not only imprisoned Hjalmar's father for a fraud in which he himself was involved and drove the formerly wealthy family to ruin, but also connected his former lover Gina with Hjalmar. For Gregers, it is clear what needs to be done. He moves in with Hjalmar and Gina, who live with their daughter Hedwig and Hjalmar's father, to reveal the lies on which their existence is based. Gregers is convinced that learning the truth about his father's past and machinations will help the entire Ekdal family live a happier, honest life.
