What do the 20s of the 21st century sound like? Is it possible to capture the sound of a decade defined by fragmentation, hyperconnectivity and rapid transformations of music scenes?
This discussion, moderated by music writer Liam Inscoe-Jones, will feature an extremely diverse group of artists, music writers and culture watchers: Resident Advisor editor and writer Gabriel Satan; Internet and culture journalist Kieran Press-Reynolds; London DJ, artist and curator Shannen SP. whose work combines the culture of club music with that of the African diaspora; Berlin-based Egyptian producer, DJ and critic Rami Abadir and Rowan Miles and Leo Fincham of Worldpeace DMT. Together, we will try to identify what defines contemporary music — and whether it may be the lack of a single distinctive sound.
