The touring festival, which was created and developed exclusively as a result of grassroots initiatives, in 2026 will visit more than forty towns throughout Poland — including Tarnowskie Góry. The partners of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights — co-organizers of the touring festival in individual cities — select films from the repertoire of the last edition of the Warsaw IFF WATCH DOCS.

The first document, which in was entirely devoted to the impact of the war in Ukraine on the environment. Deprived of dialogues and based solely on monumental long shots, Dmytra Hreshka's film alternately delights with the harmony of nature and attacks the senses with a cacophony of battle chaos. By showing the monstrous destruction of Ukraine's diverse ecosystems, the filmmakers draw attention to the usually overlooked aspect of the conflict, the consequences of which we will have to contend with for the next few decades. “Divia” exposes another dimension of the Russian invasion — but it also highlights the hard work of people trying — as much as possible — to mitigate its environmental effects. Scavengers clearing forests and swamps from mines, crews searching for bodies in inaccessible places, environmentalists studying levels of toxic contamination — their efforts give hope for the future, even when the present does not give much to rejoice.
