Film description:
New York, 1965: Actor Guy Woodhouse and his wife Rosemary rent an apartment in an old townhouse. A few days later, a young neighbor commits suicide, and the Woodhouses meet an elderly couple: Minnie and Roman Castevets, who have adopted a woman. Guy is impressed by the neighbors, and Rosemary, discouraged by Minnie's inquisitiveness, keeps a reservation with them. Soon Guy learns that his opponent for an important role has gone blind, and the role went to him. He hosts a romantic dinner for his wife and himself with a dessert prepared by Minnie. Soon Rosemary gets severe dizziness, and in the sleepy beacons she sees “demonic eyes” and a monster raping her. A few weeks later, the woman learns that she is pregnant and, on the advice of the Castevets, surrenders herself to the care of Dr. Sapirstein. Rosemary's friend, Hutch, is concerned about her appearance and the pains ignored by the doctor. When, after a few months, the pains do not pass, her friends advise Rosemary to seek the advice of another doctor, to which Guy responds with a refusal. A few weeks before giving birth, Rosemary learns of the death of Hutch, who has spent the last months in the hospital after unexpectedly falling into a coma. Shortly before his death, however, he ordered her to read a mysterious book about black magic.
