Discussion Film Club “Man in Danger” is a series of monthly meetings organized by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź at the Kinematograf Cinema. His program focuses on socially engaged cinema, addressing the relevant problems of the contemporary world and prompting reflection on the human condition.
Film screenings are accompanied by conversations with invited guests — directors, filmmakers, critics, researchers and experts from various fields. The meetings are a space for exchanging views, deepening knowledge and jointly searching for answers to the questions posed by the presented films.
DKF “Man in Danger” is not only an opportunity to get to know valuable cinema, but also a space for dialogue, in which the film becomes a starting point for a conversation about society, culture and contemporary challenges.
In 1981, the International Festival of Jazz Pianists was violently interrupted by the introduction of martial law. Pianist Włodzimierz Gulgowski, a participant in the interrupted festival, recalls in the documentary the atmosphere of those days and tells about people whose fates were suddenly changed by history.
After the screening, a meeting and discussion with Igor Mertyn, director and screenwriter of the film and Hirek Wrona, music journalist.
