DKF: Rose

At the beginning of the 17th century, a mysterious soldier (Sandra Hüller) arrives in an isolated Protestant village. The inhabitants look upon him with suspicion, but over time — through hard work and impeccable piety — he gains their trust and becomes part of the community. But beneath a man's mask and trousers is a woman who, in defiance of her social destiny, has assumed the role of a man in order to gain freedom and independence.
