A family of small, sensitive dandelions are separated from the mother plant when disaster destroys their previous home.
Rescued from a nuclear explosion, they embark on a space journey in search of a new place to live. Combining extraordinary nature images with animation, Dandelions offer a view of the world from the perspective of beings that usually remain outside the center of our attention. It is a story of survival, interdependence and the search for a safe place — even in a world where man is not the only protagonist.
After the show, we will talk about the agency of non-human creatures, the micro- and macrocosm perspective, interspecies relations and anthropomorphization (or lack thereof).
After the session, there will be a meeting with Dr. Urszula Zajaczkowska, Prof. of SGGW. The conversation will be led by Dr. Patrycja Pichnicka-Trivedi, associate of the Center for Environmental Humanities.
