Heaven 17 hit the road for what might be their final tour, facing up to age, loyalty and unfinished business with the past.

About the event

As the band approaches their 50th anniversary, their shows still deliver, but the years are catching up on performers and audience alike. Across four gigs, we meet fans of the Sheffield electro pioneers and witness Martyn Ware and Glenn Gregory, lifelong partners in creativity, musing on their legacy, wisecracking in the tour van, visiting their childhood streets and teenage hangouts, and reckoning with what comes next.

But this is a band built on a split. Ware was kicked out of The Human League, the band he founded, just before they became global stars, and he and former bandmate Phil Oakey haven't spoken in three decades. Now, Martyn decides to reach out. Warm, wry, reflective and wise, this part-tour film, part-reconciliation story captures a band at a crossroads, and asks whether old wounds can heal and whether this is really the end.
