Meaning 'look closely' in Inuktitut, Takkuuk is a striking collaboration with seven Indigenous artists across Greenland and Sápmi.
Created as part of the EarthSonic initiative, the film uses specially built infrared cameras to transform Arctic landscapes into otherworldly visions, while its collaborators explore what it means to preserve language, land and identity amid mounting external pressures and accelerating climate change.
Blending sound, storytelling and performance, Takkuuk moves between documentary realism and artistic abstraction, creating an immersive meditation on cultural resilience and giving Indigenous voices and knowledge systems the space to speak on their own terms.
