About WorkshopWriting about reality is both challenging and vulnerable. In this workshop, author Peter Øvig talks about ideas, ethics and dramaturgy in autobiographical and documentary accounts. Along the way, Øvig will introduce a few writing exercises - and there will be an opportunity to ask questions, preferably based on the workshop participants' own projects.
About the teacherPeter Øvig is an author and has written best-selling documentary books such as Birkedal, Blekingegadebanden, Hippie and Those Who Don't Keep Silent and autobiographical ones like My Mother Was Obsessed and I Am What I Remember, both of which are about depression.
He has received the Cavling Prize, the Readers' Book Prize, the Non-Fiction Prize, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Danish Arts Foundation and a number of other awards for his writing.
Writing WorkshopsEvery month, Copenhagen Libraries invites you to writing workshops all over the city. The themes and trainers vary. Our writing workshops are not workshops, but stand-alone workshops of two hours in which lecturers give presentations, give participants exercises and answer their questions.
