We invite you to the NEW YEAR'S EVE PERFORMANCE on December 31, 2026 at 19.00.
There was a time when Balutsky celebrated triumphs on all stages sleeping with comedies, as if out of his sleeve. There was also a time when “Baluchka” was an insult not only as a synonym for bourgeois pranks, but also not the best taste in literature. And the time has finally come when Bałucki became a classic of comedy, who, one would like to say jokingly, does not need anything anymore, but can do a lot. It can make us happy, laugh and teach us something along the way.
The Żelski state, a bourgeois, clerical family, leading a boring but quiet life appropriate to their character and wealth of pockets, suddenly decide to run an open house. The first step to a new life is supposed to be an “evening with dances”. Fortunately, the master of the house works with Alfonso Fikalski, a well-known arranger of sleigh rides, picnics, amateur theaters and balls, in a word, fashionable entertainments. Żelski saved Fikalski from the wrath of the principal more than once, as part of his gratitude, Fikalski, despite a busy schedule, undertakes to save the social image of the Żelskis — he becomes the leader at their first ball. The first and probably the last!
The performance used fragments of Johann Strauss's works: “The Bat's Revenge” (Polskie Radio, 2020) and “Night in Venice” (Polskie Radio Kraków, 1957). The producer of the phonograms is Polskie Radio SA.
