Hosted by: Agnieszka Dragon and Anna Siekierska

About the workshop:

We invite you to an all-day meeting with seeds: a walk dedicated to wild and ruderal plants (found in landfills, roadsides, rubble), combined with observation and collection of seeds and workshops on the creation of seed packaging. During the workshop, you will be able to view amazing seed bodies under magnifying glasses and draw them. An important element will be the exchange of stories and experiences related to plants, gardening, seed migrations and storage practices. Through collecting, listening and storytelling together, we want to reflect on what “home” is in times of climate crisis and what role seeds can play as carriers of memory, biodiversity and imagination. The result of the project will be a collection of seed containers and a collection of collected stories. We will also show a series of photographs that we are creating as part of the Fabulochoria project.

About the hosts:

Agnieszka Dragon (social practitioner, activist, cultural worker) and Anna Siekierska (artist, nature enthusiast, activist, academic worker) work together within the Capital Seed Group, promoting knowledge about both wild and cultivated seeds. The political entanglement of seeds and other living organisms is an important context for the artistic and research projects they carry out.
