About the workshop:
What can be created from garbage found in the city? During the workshop, we will look at waste and traces of human presence as materials that can become artistic material.
Classes will begin with a walk around the nearest neighborhood, during which we will look for and collect paper materials — fragments of posters, leaflets, announcements or packaging. Then we will use them to create our own collages. At the end, we will present the works and talk about the materials found and the urban space.
About the host:
Joanna Jęczalik — interested in photography, local history and collage. She carried out projects related to the history of Rzeszów photographers and popularization of archives. Privately, he creates collages using photographs, papers and materials found during trips and walks. She is especially interested in activities based on recovery, processing and giving things a second life. She lives in Rzeszów and works in one of the city's cultural institutions, where she is engaged in education and cultural activities.
