What happens if we treat the concert as a meeting at home and allow our attention to move freely closer to and away from the music? Three long sets will show how unobvious the boundary between acoustic and electronic sound can be.
The homecoming started two years ago with Marina Formenti's Time to Gather. A year later, in Hevre, three different performances lined up in one meeting without a clear division into stage and audience. We go back to this space and this idea. The house is a secular ritual of the festival community, which everyone can join at any time convenient for them. It is a meeting in the rhythm of joint focus, breaks and conversations. You can sit down, lie down, change places, go out to the bar and come back. The longer breaks between sets will be used for the exchange of impressions — community also arises when the music is silent.
This year's three sets are getting closer and closer to the body. First, the mechanical vibrations of the prepared piano will create the appearance of electronics, then the air pressure will extract from the clarinet multitones, the harmonics of which will be taken over by the cello and the trombone, and in the final the starting point will be the sounds of blood circulation, lung work and the interior of the abdomen heard in extreme silence. The evening will lead from a completely acoustic instrument, through a trio combined with field recordings, to electronics reproducing the internal soundscape of the body.
Availability:
The event consists of three sets of approximately forty minutes, separated by longer breaks. During breaks you will be able to use the bar, chat and comment on the concert.
The audience can sit on sofas, armchairs, poufs, cushions, chairs and carpets, freely change places and lie down near the piano. You can leave at any time and return later.
The first performance will be completely acoustic, but energetic and distinctly rhythmic. Pressure Chords will be slightly amplified; its finale may be louder and contain intense, low frequencies. The last set will use electronics arranged in a quadrophonic system and visualizations.
