More or less everyone knows what Don Giovanni is about, but what can he mean to us today? The play bites into Mozart's opera, exploring the different kinds of desires and expectations that guide our relationships. The problems of 200 years ago find new life in the context of today's perception of love — selfish, compulsive, unfair and completely illogical.
It is an attempt to conduct a conversation with a masterpiece, not through simple modernization, but through a fascination with its disturbing actuality. Why are we the way we are? Why does desire complicate us so much?
The sensitivity of young actors, bold form and musical-dramatic staging lead the viewer through a world of extreme emotionality, in which old questions resound with new, surprising force.
