Scene: Large Foyer (Large Stage)
We invite you to an intergenerational version of dancing in the theater. Champagne fun, a riot of colors, a dance club and the reflections of a disco ball... Let's swirl in a dance embrace, let the floor shake, let the headlights shine, and the dance floor ignite with the fire of our bodies. Long live the ball! According to Erin Manning, “Touch creates an event, touch creates an event.” Shall we dance?
Imagine that you are at a dance... What catches your attention? What intimidates you? What embarrasses? What motivates and prompts you to touch the other person? Does it have to be desire? Maybe it's affection, kindness or caring? Or lack and longing? What happens when there is an irresistible desire and desire for touch that cannot be satisfied?
Stealthy glances and winks, dance shows and social games, songs about love, flirting and joking. There will also be room for melancholy. We want to bring back the idea of “dancing in pairs” — a direct relationship and looking into each other's eyes. Dance together, compassion and harmony form the basis of this event for us. Will we be able to create a 'one evening community', just that evening? What role will our guests take when they come to play with us?
At Dansing, we recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for dancing. During the performance, you can take advantage of the buffet offer.
— conversation with Katarzyna Sikora — choreographer and author of the concept of the performance/event “Touch for touch. Dancing”.
“In dancing, as in a mirror, one looks at the joys and sorrows of the modern world and the people on whom this world in turn has left its mark. This is also what the lyrics of the songs, which make up the playlist of theatrical dancing (...)
It's not really a show, it's not even a performance or a happening. It is a form that does not yet have a name. It is an ephemeral hybrid... Ephemeral because everything that happens there is phenomenally fleeting, and a hybrid because it combines many seemingly distant forms: theater, dancing, banquet, date... It is an unusual game of creators and performers with spectators”.
“Between a sentimental longing for the past and the need to create an affirmative space of non-committal, dance fun, the creator of the event “Touch for Touch. Dansing” invite viewers to explore openness to movement, improvisation and integration”.
