DR Big Band
The phenomenon of Étienne Charles occupies the DR Concert Hall for the first time with a vibrant Caribbean music party!
After last season's Slave of Denmark concerts, where Charles was behind some of the music, he now meets the DR Big Band live in an astonishing fusion of Caribbean music and contemporary jazz.
Under the title The Caribbean Connection, Étienne Charles presents tracks from his latest album with the band Creole Orchestra, mixed with music from his previous collaboration with the DR Big Band that got the audience up out of the chairs in Studio 2.
This time Étienne himself leads the band with his trumpet and vocals, while arranging all the music in a concert where DR Big Band's strong sound meets warm grooves and dancing rhythms.
The guest musician features Cuban percussionist Eliel Lazo, who once again fires up the band with explosive energy — a true Caribbean Connection!
