About the event

A show recommended since 16 years.

The play tells about the experiences and stages of a man's life. We look at both father-son family relationships and male-female partnership relationships. “Son, who can't always spell the name of a prominent contemporary writer, The Boy with Phimosis, The Intellectual, The Doctor of Psychology, The Son of a Frozen Father, The Manager-Sadist, The Hysterical, the Abusive Man, The Man in Crisis, The Man Who's Trying to Get Back to Life.”

The creators confront the heroes with the symbols of masculinity, but at the same time discover in them the layers of vulnerability and the need for understanding for weakness.

The stories of the heroes, dressed in denim uniforms, cowboy boots and hats, as it were, in defiance of established myths, show that the world of male values is not at all black and white as in westerns.

The program of the show is here.

From reviews:

“The director is not afraid to show on stage that masculinity changes with the emancipation of women. It is to the women that the director gives part of the story, they take over the narrative at the right moment, and in collective scenes, when the presence of actors thickens, they often decide how the story goes. (Anna Pajęcka, dwutygodnik.com).

“(...) the acting team plays just phenomenally! Each of the roles is a masterpiece. With a clear authorial commentary on the current ambiguous definition of masculinity. And with examples of masculinity understood variously.” (Magdalena Talik, Wroclaw.pl).

“(...) A wise, bitterly humorous performance by Marcin Libero makes a poignant diagnosis of the male gender. Chefs! Do you hear? You are condemned to yourselves.” (Mirosław Kocur, teatralny.pl).

The male drama was based on Jakub Tabaczek's play Stulejek, which was awarded in the 5th Dramaturgical Competition ZONA KONTAKT. The text of the play is here.
