We invite you to a meeting about the eponymous emotions and about the work of Edward Dwurnik as a literary inspiration. Antonina Tosiek will talk about how to write Dwurnik with artist Pola Dwurnik and Aleksandra Zdroja, author of “Plamy z robotnika” and Maciej Jakubowiak, author of “Ci dwaj tam” — stories published in the book “Duma i d. Seven stories and a poem.”
In this book, the most interesting voices of the young generation, known for their critical view of changing lifestyles and social hierarchies, enter into a dialogue with Dwurnik's paintings. It is a literature based around two eponymous emotions of key importance for the painter, who showed how society produces visions of promotion and declassification, success and compromise. The stories of Zbroi and Jakubowiak are also combined with Dwurnik's paintings by a sense of humor and even a certain excess.
The book accompanies Edward Dwurnik's exhibition “Pride and Shame” at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
