Concert from the series Young Classics | Sala kameralna
Cello and piano will meet in a program that leads from the romantic depth of Chopin and Schumann to the contemporary sensibilities of the Hungarian composer Janos Vajda.
Fryderyk Chopin's monumental and emotionally contrasting Sonata in G minor Op. 65 will sound — one of the composer's most important chamber works. It will be accompanied by Robert Schumann's Fantasiestücke op. 73, three lyrical miniatures in which cello and piano lead a subtle musical dialogue. The program will complement Janos Vajda's Just for You, showing the possibilities of the contemporary musical language.
Magdalena Blum will sit at the piano, and the cello part will be performed by Zofia Wlazło — a young artist who, despite her age, already has numerous competition successes to her credit in Poland and abroad. Winner of international competitions, scholarship holder of programs supporting the development of young musicians and co-founder of the BoCello Quartet, she performed at Mozarthaus in Vienna, the National Opera in Beijing, the National Forum of Music and the Lodz Philharmonic, among others.
The concert will be a meeting of two instruments, two artistic personalities and three compositional worlds — from romanticism to contemporary music.
The originator and initiator of the Young Classic concerts is the FocusOn Foundation.
