Around Literature 2026: Is it possible to travel to your own past? After the screening of the film “Birthplace” by Paweł Łoziński, we will talk about a journey that does not lead to an attractive destination, but to one's own roots and memory. Eryk Krasucki, Izabela Skórzyńska and Weronika Fibich will consider whether returning to places related to family history can change the way we understand ourselves.

Weronika Fibich - works with fluid and fleeting performative material, on the border of reportage and documentary. Author of dozens of theatrical actions, site-specific performances and formal experiments. Creator of artistic projects and documentaries. An anti-disciplinary artist.

Since 1998 she has been associated with the KANA Theatre Centre in Szczecin. In parallel with cultural, educational and programmatic activities within the projects implemented by the Centre, it has been building its own creative path for years.

Lecturer, among others: University of Szczecin (Writing Studies), Academy of Art in Szczecin (Social Film Studio).

Eryk Krasucki - historian specializing in recent history, postgraduate doctor, professor at the Historical Institute of the University of Szczecin. In 2020, he obtained the degree of Habilitation Doctor based on his scientific achievements and the book “And yet I believe more and more strongly”. The Life and Fate of Witold Kolski (1902—1943).

Since 2007 he has been working at the Historical Institute of the University of Szczecin, until 2021 as an assistant professor, then as a university professor. He specializes, among others, in the history of the 20th century, the history of communism, the cultural policy of People's Poland, the history of West Pomerania.

Izabela Skórzyńska - professor of UAM PhD hab. is a historian associated with the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Her research interests primarily include modern history didactics and the critical culture of memory. She is also involved in herstoria, that is, the study of the history and memory of women, especially during the communist period. In her scientific work, she analyzes historical spectacles, reconstructions and performative forms of humanities education. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications, including the book “The History of People. A story for the people.” Prof. Izabela Skórzyńska's activities combine academic studies with practical social involvement, especially in the area of historical education and museology. Selected projects: “UAM Oral History”, “DomOtwarty/Domty?” , “Participation in museums”, “Herstoric education - research report”.
