Grandparents are the rite of contact with the dead, that is, with the past present in us today. In the autumn of this year, we will once again initiate this contact with a premiere at the junction of performance, radio and concert.
The Body of Frasobliwy is a new material by Michał Kuźniak (Nihil), vocalist and leader of the metal band Furia, and theatrologist Dominik Gac. Like their previous shows, Corpus Frasobliwy, it is based on original music, field recordings and archival materials. This time, the artists invited Remigiusz Mazura-Hanaj, a musician and ethnographer (known from the bands Księżyc and Wędrowiec), who will play live for the soundtrack, and Wojciech Kopc, an artist associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, who will be responsible for the visual layer of the project.
The Body of Frasobliwy is a sound story about the creation of the figure of Christ Frasobliwy, in which the creators seek the human, universal and pre-Christian. They are interested in the function of the sad God-Comforter, placed most often outside the temples — in the open and everyday space. Frasoblivi as a witness and confidant — a medium containing the stories of people looking at him. A dead wooden figure, which, when meeting a person, comes to life and fulfills its function — brings him relief.
