History of cemeteries in Włocławek

The Museum of Kujawska and Dobrzyń Land in Włocławek invites you to another of the series of historical meetings, which will take place on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 10.00 am in the premises of the Włocławek History Museum at 19 Szpichlerna Street. This time the topic of the prepared lectures will be the history of cemeteries in Włocławek.

In the program, the organizers provided two speeches, prepared by the employees of the Historical Department of our Museum. The first paper entitled History of Włocławy cemeteries from the Middle Ages to the present will be given by Tomasz Wąsik, in which he will present the current state of knowledge about the urban necropolises and their fate over the centuries. Next, Jakub Szachewicz, in his talk entitled Cemetery of St. Anthony at Dziadów in Włocławek, will present the history of this non-existent cemetery, which was once located at present-day Wieniecka Street.
