As part of the Polish Cinema Day, we invite you to a film that shook the audience and critics - and let us remind that it was already more than 2 years after the premiere of “The Matrix”, and it was shot simultaneously with “The Lord of the Rings: The Team of the Ring” and the first “Harry Potter” (we are convinced that the premieres of the aforementioned titles in Poland were deliberately delayed in order to to create the artistry of Andrzej Sapkowski's adaptation).
The masterpiece of Polish fantasy will be shown a quarter of a century after its release in a version without major reconstruction, in accordance with the original vision... Or the lack of it? In any case, we invite you to the first screening of “The Witcher”, which is watched with pleasure despite some shortcomings. Here are some quotes from people who survived the session:
“(...) There is nothing average in this film. (...)” - Wiatrac99 (forum FilmWeb.pl)
“(...) The Witcher, however, remains a fantastic guilty pleasure — remember the scene when the brave Stępion charges against the most beautiful dragon in the history of cinematography?” - Katarzyna Kebernik (film.org.pl)
The Witcher Geralt (Michał Żebrowski) struggles to fight dangerous monsters. Often, however, human cruelty and lust for power are far more dangerous.
