True stories can move more strongly than fiction. How to discover them, how to listen to people and how to tell about the world in order to convey what really happened? We invite you to the Day of Reportage — a meeting with literature that grows out of curiosity and attentiveness.
The main guest of the event will be Mariusz Szczygieł — a leading Polish journalist, an icon of Polish reportage and winner of the Nike Literary Award for the book “Nie ma”. His work shows that in seemingly ordinary fates there are stories that can delight, surprise and remain in memory for a long time. The event will be hosted by Grzegorz Kowalski.
The meeting will be an opportunity to talk about the power of true stories, responsibility for the word and literature that helps to better understand reality. We will look at what makes a daily event a subject of reportage, and a single voice allows us to hear something important about us all.
Reportage begins with an attentive look and a willingness to listen. It allows you to see what is easily overlooked, to know other perspectives and to ask questions that do not have simple answers. Reportage Day is an invitation to such an encounter with the world — through people, their experiences and stories worth telling.
