GIRLS FROM THE CALENDAR

Premiere: 9.09.2023

A musical based on a film by Helen Mirren.

Life should be like a sunflower — wandering for the light

Chris and Annie — despite their differences in temperament — have been friends for years. After passing away from her husband Annie's leukemia — in line with his last words that “the flower is the most beautiful in the last flowering period”, Chris decides to make a calendar for the year 2000. The calendar includes pictures of the women from the Institute, where they indulge in their usual activities... naked. Two decades ago it was a real shock.

The Westend musical was based on Hellen Mirren's film, and this one was based on real events. The actual “girls” managed to raise more than half a million pounds to fight leukaemia and, as they said, bought a new leather sofa for the waiting room of a hospital in Yorkshire.

Ladies and gentlemen, together with Girls from the Calendar directed by Jakub Szydłowski, you will live the American dream and you will see that it is worth doing good, but age is just a number, because we are as old as we feel, and with the passage of time — we only bloom again!
