After the success of the films “Ghosts of Inisherin” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” Oscar winner Martin McDonagh returns with the black comedy “Wild Horse Nine”. The film is the first joint project of the director and John Malkovich, who for his extraordinary creation in this film was awarded for the best male role at this year's Venice International Film Festival.
Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (two-time Oscar nominee John Malkovich) and Lee (Oscar winner Sam Rockwell) are sent from Santiago to Easter Island by their superior, MJ (Steve Buscemi). In the shadow of the island's majestic statues, the two longtime partners face dark events of the past and mounting political intrigues. Meanwhile, Chris's encounter with two rebellious students (Mariana Di Girolamo and Ailín Salas) makes the mission in this remote corner of paradise begin to spiral out of control.
