Tonight: Lola Blau

“Tonight: Lola Blau” is a gripping, intimate musical starring Anna Podolak!

Although the story takes place in the 1930s, the theme of refugees, fear of the war machine and the desire for freedom is strikingly relevant today.

The young artist takes her first steps in the world of theater and cabaret, believing that talent and determination will allow her to find her place on the stage. And then her life, dreams and plans fall apart with the advent of Nazism and racial hatred. Forced into an emigrant wanderer, she will wander through the stages and cabarets of the world.

On this journey she is accompanied by the Master of Ceremonies (Mateusz Kocięcki) - a guide to the world of the show, a commentator on events and an attentive observer of the fate of the heroine.

In the USA, he will taste what real show business is, he will become a star of the world format. The end of the war will bring joy and hope, so, longing for home, Lola Blau will return to Vienna. But how can we forget that this world is infected with violence? Where to hide from the monsters of the past? All the more so since the recent abusers, as if nothing had ever happened, sit in the audience in the front rows. Fortunately, in the cabaret you can once again sing loudly, bluntly and truthfully.

“Tonight: Lola Blau” is a performance that impresses with the energy, passion and extraordinary musical sensitivity of the main character. At other times, it plays to tears, and at other times it is moving when we realize that the price of professional success is loneliness.

The fate of Lola Blau is captured in snapshots of events and twenty cabaret songs — touching, ironic and virulently witty — that create a story of love, hope and the attempt to save one's dignity. It is a moving theatrical encounter that will stay with us for a long time, because the proximity of the stage will make the emotions of Lola Blau transfer directly to the viewers.
