pl. Teatralny 4, Wrocław

The show is a journey into the world of nature — wild sounds, colours and stories written without words, opening up to experience with all the senses. Enter the jungle on all fours. Immerse yourself in its juicy, multi-colored greenery. Listen to the wild sounds, pulsating nature: the voices of birds, the murmur of plants, the rustle of insects, look at what is mysterious and beautiful at the same time. Feel this extraordinary rhythmic energy. The show was created out of fascination with the richness of the Amazon jungle — the most virgin and endangered area at the same time, home to thousands of species of insects, animals and plants, where the natural, primordial bonds of man and nature have been preserved. The creators of the show want to share with the audience a reflection on this beautiful relationship; to seek together the roots of interpersonal closeness, based on rhythms, rituals of everyday life and harmony with the surrounding world. “Dżungla” is the second performance after “BrzuCH”, realized at the Wrocław Puppet Theater by the artistic duo Alicja

About the event

“Jungle” is the second performance after “BrzuCH”, realized at the Wrocław Puppet Theater by the artistic duo Alicja Morawska-Rubczak and Barbara Małecka. The director and stage designer was joined by Wacław Zimpel, an outstanding composer, instrumentalist, winner of the 2016 Polityka Passport. The performance is a development of theatre for the youngest, which has been developing in Poland for nearly fifteen years. Its basis is the desire to invite very young, even a few months old, children into the world of performing arts. The creators of “Jungle” believe that the meeting of a small child with art is possible, and creating for babies does not require artistic compromises - on the contrary, it is a creative challenge that constantly allows them to develop.Description of the play in simple textA performance created for the youngest viewers. The show is devoid of words — except for one song. Three actresses play, sing and animate, that is, they bring the dolls to life. They move in a sensory friendly and softly lit space. Shades of green and brown and shapes of leaves and lianas predominate here. The show is a story about the jungle world. It's a safe and sensory friendly world. Actresses gradually discover in front of small viewers the secrets of wildlife. They acquaint them with animals: toucan, anteater, sloth. Made of soft and pleasant to the touch materials, animal dolls come to life in their hands and get closer to children. An important role in the performance is played by music and sounds. Soothing sounds of nature are combined with calm melodies.
