About the event

The protagonist of the next concert in the Chopin Effect series will be Piotr Pawlak, one of the most versatile Polish pianists of the young generation, appreciated for his virtuosity, musical imagination and an extremely wide spectrum of artistic interests.

Winner of numerous international competitions, including the winner of the International Maj Lind Piano Competition in Helsinki (2022) and the International Chopin Competition in Darmstadt (2017), he also won recognition as the audience favorite of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2025). He is also a laureate of the Chopin competitions in Beijing, Budapest and Krakow, as well as the Stanisław Moniuszko competitions in Rzeszów and Ignacy Jan Paderewski in Bydgoszcz.

The artist has toured in Europe, the United States, China and Japan, performing on the most prestigious stages such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Teatro alla Scala, the National Philharmonic or the Verdi Hall in Milan. He has collaborated with many orchestras and participated in renowned festivals, including “Chopin and his Europe”.

During the 2024/2025 season, he conducted intensive concert activities on several continents, collaborating with leading symphony ensembles. His phonographic output includes, among others, recordings of chamber music by Józef Elsner and his debut solo album with Chopin music published by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.

He received his education in Gdańsk, where he graduated in piano and organ studies, and now he is also developing as a conductor and continues his education at the prestigious International Piano Academy Lake Como. In parallel, he pursues his passion for mathematics, conducting scientific research at the doctoral level.

A special place in his activity is occupied by improvisation — the artist consciously refers to historical performance practices, bringing improvisation back to the world of classical music, including by performing author cadences in concerts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The recital as part of the Chopin Effect will be an encounter with music of the highest standard — full of expression, interpretive courage and a fresh look at the classical repertoire. It is a concert that shows Chopin in a new light, while maintaining respect for tradition.
