Chopin Effect by Yehuda Prokopowicz

The next concert in the Chopin Effect series will be filled with the musical imagination and unique sensitivity of Yehuda Prokopowicz, one of the most intriguing pianists of the younger generation.

“Music is for me the key to opening the doors of space,” says the artist, emphasizing that through sound he tries to build a world of emotions, images and sensations. His interpretations are not only precision and technique, but above all an attempt to establish a deep relationship with the listener, touch his sensitivity and invite him to experience music together.

Born in 2005 near Jerusalem, he began his musical education at the age of four. He developed his artistic path in Krakow, where he was educated, among others, under the guidance of Prof. Stefan Wojtas, and is currently studying at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in the class of Dr. Krzysztof Książka.

He is a semi-finalist of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, where he also received a special prize for the best performance of Mazurkas. He has more than 30 awards won in national and international competitions, including the Grand Prix of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski competition and numerous first prizes.

He perfected his skills under the guidance of outstanding educators and pianists, such as Lidia Grychtołówna, Aleksandr Kobrin or Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń. He performed on prestigious stages, including the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Teatr Wielki — the National Opera and the most important philharmonics in Poland.

In 2024 he was a scholarship holder of the “Young Poland” program, and in 2026 he received the “Polityka” Readers' Passport, which confirms his growing position on the music scene.

Yehuda Prokopowicz's recital as part of the Chopin Effect is a meeting with an artist who treats music as a space of freedom and dialogue. It is an evening full of emotion, subtlety and intensity, in which Fryderyk Chopin's music will sound fresh, bold and extremely personal.
