The painting Adoring Mary the Child — Adoration in the Forest by Filippo Lippi is one of the outstanding masterpieces of the picture gallery. The painting was commissioned by the Medici in Florence around 1459 and has been part of the permanent exhibition since the museum was founded in 1830.
Since April, the important wood panel painting has been examined and restored using art technology as part of a two-year research project. The tour provides an exclusive insight into ongoing work and offers the opportunity to talk to the executive restorer, Anja Wolf, very close to the object.
