El Tri

The Latin American rock pioneers began their journey in the late 1960s as Three Souls in My Mind before evolving into one of Mexico's most long-lived rock institutions under the leadership of Alejandro Lora. A landmark performance at the 1971 Avándaro Festival, often referred to as Mexico's answer to Woodstock, cemented their place in rock history. With the 1985 gold record Simplemente el Tri, which included the big hits “Triste Canción de Amor” and “Vicioso del Rocanrol”, among others, they achieved wide recognition far beyond the borders of the country. Over more than five decades, El Tri has proven that Spanish-language rock is a force in its own right.
