Massachusetts rock band Elder returns to Pump House with Temple Fang as support
With two decades behind him, a new album in the back and a reputation as one of heavy psychedelic rock's most distinctive names, audiences can expect a concert of heavy riffs, progressive patterns, hypnotic grooves and atmosphere that opens up layer by layer. With them they have Temple Fang as support.
Elder was formed around 2006 in a small coastal town in Massachusetts by three old friends with a shared love of heavy, down-tuned music. Since then, the band has moved far from its starting point. They have expanded the crew, switched base from the United States to Germany, played hundreds of concerts from small clubs to arenas all over the world and released six albums, four EPs and two live records.
Today Elder stands as a rare name in the heavy underground. A band that can record sounds and ideas from many genres without losing its own identity. On the new album Through Zero, recorded in Berlin between tours in 2025, they bring together the lessons of 20 years of musical quest in a record that feels both immediate and full of new details. Each listen opens up new textures, sequences and sounds in the band's distinctive take on heavy rock.
Through Zero is simultaneously the first album on which Elder himself has produced and co-mixed together with their long-time collaborator Richard Behrens. The result sounds closer to the band's own creative intentions than ever before.
When Elder hits Pump House on February 12, 2027, it's with a back catalogue built on movement, change and a clear determination not to stand still. An evening for those who want to hear heavy rock unfold into new forms.
