Emanuel Gat Dance - FIVE DAYS IN THE SUN

Travel through the emotional depths of Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in this moving work

A rich tapestry of emotions and contrasts, FIVE DAYS IN THE SUN moves from darkness to light, despair to joy and tension to release. The latest work from Emanuel Gat, the piece contrasts between solemnity and ecstasy, and delves into themes of love, mortality, and transformation.

Underscoring the performance is Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5. One of Mahler’s most famous works, it was composed following a near-death experience, and his whirlwind romance with Alma Schindler. His brush with mortality and newfound love deeply impacted the emotional landscape of the composition, which has subsequently influenced the moving journey of this performance.

Over the course of five acts, 12 dancers will take you on a layered and rich choreographic voyage, exploring transformation, resilience, and catharsis.
