The play “Emigrant” tells about migration understood not as a biographical fact, but as the experience of modern man — of constant adaptation, functioning under evaluation and living in conditions of uncertainty and lack of a clear sense of belonging. The design focuses on the body as the primary tool for responding to pressure and suspension. The body functions in a system in which acceptance is constantly deferred—there is no moment of confirmation that it is “sufficient.” Each attempt to fit does not lead to stabilization, but generates another voltage.
Since we left the stable structures of the old worlds, we have become strangers. Insecure. Nausea. Our bodies are constantly ready, eyes open, hands torn. Stretched between here and there, we lost our balance. Backrest points. We tread carefully looking for new places, positions, relationships, recognition. Vigilant. Torn between themselves and a world we do not know. We are constantly changing — malleable, mobile, transitional. Internal expats.
