An Evening with Romantasy

Amar:Litt presents an evening in the sign of the spicy dragons: romantasy.

Few literary genres are as talked about these days as romantasy. The genre is a mix of romance and fantasy and that fusion creates strong, nuanced heroines, an exciting universe and not least sex and happy endings.

Romantasy has created engaged reader communities on social media and in book clubs. It has carried fanfiction and romantic and sexy books from niche communities and into the arms of the wide audience. Because in the genre something magical arises that cannot be ignored in the international book industry and that has filled the literary conversation in recent years.

We at Amar:are a bit curious about that. Therefore, we get a visit from publishing associate Nikoline Rosengjerg Kjeldsen, who has written a thesis on romantasy and she is in conversation with Maren Lemb, who has written “The Gift of the Sun” which is the first part of the romance series “The Mountains Between Us”.

So come to this evening at the Library House and hear about what the genre can do. Hear about trends, subgenres, communities, spice and stars like Rebecca Yarros and Sarah Maas. We rejoice.
