Another World

Sensational—in more than one sense—Spanish drama that juxtaposes hearing versus being deaf... which has scarcely been portrayed so present and believable before. The couple Ángela (Miriam Garlo) and Héctor (Álvaro Cervantes) are expecting their first child. The mother is deaf, the father can hear. At first, the parents are worried about whether the daughter may have been born deaf, but as she grows to be hearing, quite other frictions arise in which the deaf mother comes to feel left out. 'Another World' offers a unique insight into a deaf world — and how it can be experienced to be excluded from the community.
