History of Energy

An epic storyThe history of man and energy is epic. With ingenuity and fateful daring, over the millennia we have made energy our slave — and along the way we have become slaves to the energy ourselves.

Journalists Johanne Pontoppidan Tuxen and Mikkel Vuorela will, with great arm gestures and fascinating narratives, take us on an incredible journey through the history of man and energy.

From then on, ingenious farmers of the past invented tapping the energy of the Sun, creating fertile ground for mighty civilizations such as the Roman Empire. Over the blessings of coal and the fortuitous discovery of the liquid, black gold. And right into the microscopic and mighty world of atoms, which holds both the dream of infinite amounts of energy and the seeds of total destruction.

Join us on a historical journey based on the two journalists' popular podcast 'Children of the Sun' and the acclaimed book 'How Man Got Superpowers'.

In a single evening, the surprising story of how man learned to master energy, took over the world and changed the planet is told.
