Memories are sounds that reverberate. Between autobiographical sound images, political testimony and two new musical perspectives, the program unfolds an arc from personal memory to collective memory. Oxana Omelchuk's “Memories. Tape I” reconstructs the acoustic world of her childhood, while Frederic Rzewski's “Coming Together” gives a single voice universal meaning. The world premieres by Elaine Mitchener and Nina Šenk open up a view of today's questions of identity, community and artistic renewal. Together, a project is created about what connects people: remembering, listening and the power of shared experience.
