Rolf Riehm (1937—2026) is one of the most independent personalities in contemporary music; his death has opened a huge gap in the music world. On the first anniversary of his death on February 14, 2027, Ensemble Mosaik honors him with a concert. In addition to the central composition “Hawking” from 1998, there are pieces from early and late works. The evening is not only about musical remembrance, but is also a dialogue about art and responsibility, about intellectuality and resistance — topics that make his work so unique and indispensable.
Program: Rolf Riehm: “Ach, Königin” for cello (2005); Rolf Riehm: “Ein Sommerabend am Lindleinsee” for violin, cello, piano and replays (1976); Rolf Riehm: “Hawking” for piano, bass drum and six instruments (1998)
